Foundation for dark skin indian beauty

It’s no secret that it can be difficult to find the right foundation, but it can be even more difficult to find the right foundation when you have a darker skin tone. Searching for a foundation that truly matched dark skin color and didn’t make one look like wearing a fake mask.

For women of color, a lot of times harsh lighting can fail. Though foundation sometimes conceals uneven skin tone, it is still better to use a primer. Primer does well in filling fine lines, smoothing over bumps, erasing dark circles and pigmentation, correcting flaws and bringing about fine lines.

Women are not born knowing how to do a flawless cat eye or a shadowy, smoky eye, so they often turn to makeup tutorials on YouTube. A search for “smoky eye” pulls up endless videos showing how to perfectly blend eye shadows to achieve the look. But what if you had dark skin and most of the videos showed lighter-skinned women applying hues that would make you look as if you had a black eye? What if you couldn’t relate to these women, because you couldn’t see yourself in them?

Always bear in mind that darker skin show coatings of make-up a great deal more than the fair color. Extraordinary care should be taken while merging the foundation with the skin color. Make sure that the effect of make-up is checked in daytime.

Out of trend: Dark skin has red undertones; your foundation should be red, too.
Trend: Most dark-skinned women have yellow or golden undertones in their skin that means that your foundation should have those same yellow or golden undertones for the perfect match.

The foundation used should be under no circumstances of a lighter color than the color of your skin. Try your best to use the foundation which is closest to your skin color. Indulge in lighter coverage while applying the foundation.

Hyper pigmentation is a common skin problem for dark skinned girls, thus dark skin girls can really benefit from using color-correcting products to disguise any discoloration and create an even canvas for foundation. This way, dark skin girls won’t have to use as much product on top, but they can still end up with a flawless finish.

If there is more pigmentation on the skin, never make use of orange based products. A pure foundation and an extremely superior concealer are essential for giving an ideal skin.

Wrong colours of foundations look worst on dark skin. Anything too light will definitely make you turn look like an ashy ghost. Makeup also tends to oxidize on darker skins especially if you are on the oily side.

The shades of foundation, eyeliner, eye shadow, blush, and lipstick that work for a woman of color will vary from individual to individual.  Nevertheless, there are some general colors and tones that tend to work for dark skin women:

  • Yellow based foundation
  • Nude, burgundy, or earth tone lips
  • Shimmery, metallic, eye shadows
  • A general rule is the darker the skin, the brighter the colors one can “pull off”.

Applying the wrong foundation on your face, no matter how well it is applied, can have an adverse effect on your look. This is why for women who have dark skin, yellow-based foundations are the best option for you because you have warm undertones. While those having really very dark skins, a golden pink-based foundation can be a nice try as you are likely to have cool undertones.

What is Camp Fashion?

Camp art is related to—and often confused with—kitsch, and things with camp appeal may also be described as “cheesy”. Camp can also be a social practice. For many it is considered a style and performance identity for several types of entertainment including film, cabaret, and pantomime. After a few years of easy-to-interpret themes—China, Catholicism, robots—the Met Gala went for something a bit more slippery in 2019: camp.

A lot of people are still confused about what “camp,” the theme of this year’s Met Gala, actually means. But as soon as you set foot in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new costume exhibit, all becomes clear: Camp has nothing to do with tie-dying t-shirts at summer camp. It has everything to do with basking in the fabulousness, irony, and humor of being extra.

It was Made famous by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay “Notes on ‘Camp,’ ” the winking, over-the-top sensibility has a strong valence in queer art-making but is notoriously hard to pin down, much less sew into a dress. This week, just about every news outlet that does fashion criticism published some version of a “What Is Camp?” blog post, gunning for that sweet, sweet heterosexual search traffic.

What exactly is camp fashion? We delve into the theme of next week’s Met Gala. Never has the idea of ‘bad taste’ been more à la mode than right now. Style motifs from the early noughties (until recently, considered boorishly over-the-top) have been riding high on the coattails of sartorial nostalgia and creating eye-catching moments on and off the runways.

Unlike the style slaves of the noughties, however (for whom low-slung velour tracksuits were serious ‘fashion’), those buying into the trend today are doing so with far more self-awareness. They’re saying “yes I know I’m wearing a bejeweled vest but that’s the look, silly,” and in doing so, are heralding the renaissance of camp — a movement seemingly tailor-made for the Instagram era, but certainly not one born from it.

As opposed to kitsch, camp reappropriates culture in an ironic fashion, whereas kitsch is indelibly sincere. Additionally, kitsch may be seen as a quality of an object, while camp, “tends to refer to a subjective process”. Those who identify objects as “camp” commemorate the distance mirrored in the process through which, “unexpected value can be located in some obscure or exorbitant object.” The effect of camp’s irony is problematic, insofar as the agents of cultural redefinition are often of upper class standing who could, “afford, literally, to redefine the life of consumerism and material affluence as a life of spiritual poverty”. Songs, movies, buildings, furniture, novels, people and, of course, clothes, all can encompass camp.

2.0 Makeup Styling, Prosthetic & Special Effects: Sean Foot the stylist of Lords of The Ring, The Last Samurai, The Hobbit & Now Robot 2.0

Akshay said, “It was a very challenging role and it took a toll on my body. But the pain and sacrifice was worth it. My character required around 4 hours of prosthetic make-up and another hour and a half to remove it. In my whole career, I’ve never put so much of make-up.”

This stalwart makeup artist is one of the many hardworking people from New Zealand who have benefited from Peter Jackson’s meteoric efforts to make the country a cinematic powerhouse. Starting with Jackson’s first foray into true drama, Foot was there as a prosthetics technician for the effects house Weta as it worked on “Heavenly Creatures.”

Akshay Kumar’s Robot 2 look has taken everyone by a surprise. The action king of Bollywood looked unrecognizable and way too scary in his recent avatar.

Talking about it, he told The Quint, “When you are shooting with prosthetics all over your body, the pores on your skin can’t breathe because there is no oxygen since your whole body is packed. So, for the five to six hours that I used to shoot, all the sweat used remain inside my body. When they use to remove the whole thing, I used to smell of sweat”.

2.0, the costliest film ever made in the history of Indian cinema, is gearing up for release this year. It is a known fact that the VFX effects of the film consumed the larger part of the film’s budget, since director Shankar was keen on setting a benchmark with the film.

Here’s a curiosity-buster from our end! Makeup artist, Sean Foot is the legend behind Akshay Kumar’s fiendish-vampire look and the Khiladi made sure that the artist’s work is accounted for by posting a video of the prosthetic makeup on his Twitter and Instagram account.

And true to his profession, Sean in the video made best use of his art skill rather than the special effects of technology to give Akshay Kumar, the look that will keep us up at night.

The makeup artist, Sean Foot the man behind James Cameron’s Avatar look, created this look for the Khiladi and gave him the distinct Crow Man look in 2.0.

Foot’s association with Weta continued doing home-grown effects for the popular Hercules television show, but his real claim to fame was at having his hand on someone’s foot – namely that of Sean Astin – as that actor’s prosthetic worker who was charged with putting Hobbit feet on. The joke was an amusing one: Sean Foot put feet on Sean Astin. Though he was visibly tired of this joke by the time Foot’s behind-the-scenes footage was taped for the DVD of “Fellowship of the Ring,” this hardworking makeup artist surely will be remembered as having stood a head above the rest.

International make up artist Sean Foot was appointed to do the makeup and the movie’s trailer suggests he has done a fantastic job! As per the reports, it took 6 hours for Akshay Kumar to wear the prosthetics!

Apart from the stellar star cast, the film also boasts of a powerful behind-the-scenes team. Sean Foot is the makeup artist, Kenny Bates has been roped in to direct action sequences. 2.0 is also being hailed as the first Indian film to have been shot entirely in 3D technology.

Though Akshay Kumar has starred in several South film remakes, this is the first time that the action superstar will be seen playing a mainstream role in a Tamil film, where he will be seen at logger heads with Rajinikanth in high-octane action scenes.

Glasses: Types, Evolution in Decades, Design for faces shapes & How to Remove Spectacle Marks

Off course everybody loves glasses, goggles and spectacles but have ever encountered any issue with it such as

How to choose glasses/goggles and frame as per face shape and size?

How to remove spectacles? What is LASIK? How is it done?

Why Glasses leave impressions and marks on Face, Nose and Under Eyes – Why?

Home Remedies to Remove Spectacle Marks

A great pair of glasses can make a huge difference. Not only can a great pair of glasses look good, but they can feel good, help you see better than you ever have, and can make you forget that you’re even wearing them. Faces come in all sizes, and glasses should sit in the right position and be the right proportion to the rest of your face in order to avoid distracting from your appearance or obstructing the rest of your face. Eyewears evolved in different decades and were always part of fashion statement.

1900s-1930s : Round and Cat Eye Shape

This period was marked by lorgnette and pince-nez style glasses. Worn by men and women alike, lorgnette glasses did not rest on the wearer’s face, but rather were spectacles held up to the face with a handle. These were lauded by women because they did not fully cover the face, and they were used more as an accessory than a practical, vision-enhancing tool.

The biggest trend in eyewear in the 1940s was surely the “browline.” Introduced in 1947 and combining both metal and plastic, the top section of the frame is made in plastic, giving them their distinctive, signature faux eyebrow look. The browline was so popular after the second World War that it made up 50 percent of all eyeglass sales moving right into the 1950s.

As can be expected given the political and social climate of the 1960s, the decade’s eyewear was equally wild and varied. John Lennon, a trendsetter in more ways than one, popularized the round teashades–a style rumored to hide the effects of drug use and were considered a symbol for liberal ideologies.

How to choose glasses/goggles and frame as per face shape and size

Oval Face Shape

An oval is considered the holy grail of face shapes. Those lucky enough to have a face that is noticeably longer than it is wide and with a rounded jaw should try not to look too smug when we say you can wear pretty much any frame available.

A face with a strong jawline and broad forehead will look good with rounded sunglasses that contrast with the face shape. Shop for sunglasses that have rounded bottom edges with top edges that are fairly straight across, like classic wayfarer sunglasses.

Heart-shaped faces usually look nice with frames that are wider on the bottom or have some kind of detail on the lower half of the frames. Be sure that the frames are slightly wider than the forehead for a proper fit

A face with a narrow chin and wide forehead will look best with sunglasses that are heavier toward the bottom edge, like aviator sunglasses. You can find pair of aviator sunglasses in metal frames as well as plastic, so you have many to choose from.

How to remove spectacles? What is LASIK? How is it done?

LASIK or laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis is procedure commonly used for removal of spectacle number (Glasses) of the patient. The surgery is done on the cornea which is the outermost clear part of the eye. A flap is created as a part of the process followed by laser delivery on the cornea to remove the glass number. The flap is positioned back at the end of the procedure.

Why Glasses leave impressions and marks on Face, Nose and Under Eyes – Why?

  • Heavy glasses form impressions on the bridge of the nose. With long term usage, the marks deepen.
  • Continued usage will cause pigmentation.
  • Tight eyewear also causes marks.

Home Remedies to Remove Spectacle Marks

The gel or juice from an aloe vera leaf is very soothing for the skin. Draw out a little gel from a freshly cut leaf and apply it over the darkened areas. Leave it on your skin until it dries and then wash off with cool water.

Potato Tomato Cucumber Mix

Rub fresh slice of potato or tomato on the marks. Do it on the regular basis. It will clear the spectacle scars within a few days. Rub cucumber slice on the affected area. Alternatively, squeeze the juice of cucumber. Add potato and tomato juice in it. Mix well. Apply this mixture on your nose, with the help of a cotton ball. Allow it to dry.

Honey, Lemon and Apple Vinegar Mix

Take a fresh lemon. Extract out its juice. Mix equal quantity of honey, lemon and apple cider vinegar. You can also mix milk and oat in this mixture. Apply the mixture on the affected region.

Steampunk: Style, Art, Era, Images, Clothing, Costume, Festival, Wedding. Why steampunk is so popular?

Steampunk Festival, UK

What if the internal combustion engine had never been invented and all future technological advancement was powered by the mighty force of steam?

Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. Steampunk fashion is partly inspired by late 19th century and early 20th century fashion victorian fashion. But it also has an extremely unique retro futuristic twist to the style.

Combining rich colors and textures, steampunk outfits are all about impressing and entertaining the viewer. Because steampunk outfits are truly an expression of the wearer, this is a fashion trend that has no limits. Mechanical pocketwatches, leather arm braces, and telescopes are all commonly seen in a well-rounded steampunk costume. Other frequently used accessory is the Utility Belt, after all everyone could use a few extra pockets.

Steampunk Mechanical System, Gears and Artistic Dress

Since you are portraying a character from a science fiction/fantasy story you need something that show the viewer that aspect. A weapon of some sort is good. Whether it’s an airship pilot blocking the wind, a mad scientist defending against toxic spills, or a desert explorer marching through the sand, many Steampunk character occupations require eye protection, and goggles are an essential accessory and easy to wear.

Steampunk Art – Vintage Computer

Steampunk is a genre with a penchant for brass, or copper. Belts with fancy buckles and studs can really make an outfit. For the mechanically inclined, a pair of protective boots is always a welcome addition, preferably with laces and noticeable hardware. Why steam-punk so so popular: –

  • Your individuality is Steampunk’s strength.
  • It’s the perfect mash-up genre for a culture obsessed with mixing and remixing, fanfic, memes, and ‘shipping.
  • It’s both global and local.
  • It’s class conscious.
  • It’s eco-conscious.
  • It’s a much-needed countercultural aesthetic for design.
  • It’s all about getting back to the basics.

We have compiled top essentials that you need to get that steampunk look. Feel free to add to your own spin on it.

Steampunk Corset

Corsets:  Whether the corset is full, underbust, faux leather, brocade, or velvet it adds an instant Victorian touch to any outfit.

Gears: Add gears, sprockets, screws, nuts, bolts, and other techno features to any accessory or clothing piece, and instantly elevate your Steampunk attire.

Pocket watches: Pocket watches were once a staple of fashion for all men. With their Victorian, old-world style and influence, the pocket watch has become a standard for men who share the Steampunk fashion style.

Steampunk Skirt

Spectacles and Monocles: These round framed glasses, with their antique and classic design emmulate the ones worn in the Victorian era.

Leather Belts: In Steampunk fashion, belts are for men and women.  They also act as waist synchers.

Steampunk Boots, Belt with Purse

Spinal Heels: Nothing quite sends the same message as a stylish pair of spinal heels. What’s a spinal heel?

Bustle skirts: Bustle skirts are a staple of women’s steampunk fashion. Bustle skirts are designed short in the front and long in the back with ruffles and layers of fabric.

Steampunk Mask and Goggles

Steampunk fashion is only going to continue to grow as this awesome movement gains fans. If you like the aesthetic and style of Steampunk fashion then we wholeheartedly recommend you try adding some unique flair to your wardrobe! You don’t even need to go all out like the examples above to get started. Simply adding a cool piece of Steampunk gear to your attire can make you stand out in an awesome way!

What to wear to a fashion show

Dressing for Fashion Week should be fun, but it also needs to be practical. As a fashion school director, I’m constantly running  between runway shows, designer presentations, breakfasts, dinners with brands forecasting teams. Fashion Week is a marvellous time to show off your street style and really capture the attention of the media. Those fashion editors will write about you, your frenemies will be keenly watching you and you will choose to feel like the star of the show yourself. It might sound glamorous—and don’t get me wrong, nothing compares—but a weeklong marathon of events requires some combination of comfort, versatility and statement-making style.

Scoring an invite to a fashion show is a dream come true for many fashionistas. But once the excitement dies down, you may be stressing out over what to wear to the show. The basic tips are as follows:

  • It needs to be fashionable (of course).
  • It needs to have a fun or funky design element.
  • It should be a bit more glamorous than how you usually dress.
  • It’s fun to experiment with new texture, color or to do something outside of the box.
  • It needs to be different from what you wore to last year’s event.
  • It still needs to fit your style personality, so you will feel like yourself.

Don’t Sacrifice Comfort

Wear something chic that allows for mobility. Wear something you can breathe in. You want to enjoy your time at the fashion show, not be adjusting yourself and wiping away sweat all night.

Keep Your Edge

If you like to stand out in a crowd, go for an edgier look. Start with a funky leather jacket – a style that features studs or grommets is a sexy option, or go bolder with a jacket that features colorful appliques or airbrushed details.

Keep it Casual

The truth is that you are not trying to be the model at the show but merely there to enjoy the party with all the rest of them.

Celebrate New Trends

If you’re hoping to repeat some garments during a longer event, like a week-long stay at NYFW, it’d be wise to pack as many versatile fashion-forward tops as you can.

Know a Tailor

Your body is not generic and neither should be your clothes. Weird pocket bulges and sleeves that are too long for your own arms, no matter how shapely they may be, are all too common a problem that must be eradicated quickly.

Opt for a Dress

Adopt an equally casual look with a dress in a low-key style for an effortless, stylish look. A shift dress features an uncomplicated design, usually ends at or above the knees, and has a loose fit at the waist to give it a relaxed feel.

Carry a Clutch

At most fashion shows, you won’t have a whole lot of leg room or personal space. Plus, a lot goes on in a short amount of time, and having to constantly keep an eye on your designer handbag gets frustrating.

Do Not Spend a Fortune

You don’t need to put in the month’s rent to but a new outfit either. Just pool your money for something that is more of an investment piece, versatile for many occasions and that which is sure to have you looking and feeling as amazing as can be.

Analyze Seasonal Tones

The “live colorfully” mantra shouldn’t be reserved for spring and summer. If you love color, analyze which seasonal tones are most appropriate for the occasion.

Mind the Weather

Light blazers are a great option for cooler evenings, but leave your coats at home. If you’re going to layer, you’ll want to pack particularly breathable fabrics, like cotton.

Choose Breathable Fabrics

As you’re packing or getting ready, choose particularly breathable fabrics, like cotton. Cotton didn’t become world’s favorite fabric by accident. It’s durable, versatile, and it breathes easier than synthetic fabrics, like polyester, nylon, latex, etc, which is why it’s such a smart option for occasions when you may feel flushed.

How to be fashionable or How to be stylish

Do you want to put the emphasis on the clothes in order to hide your true self? Style brings attention directly to ourselves and can enhance the messages we want to send to the outside world. ‘trendy’ is usually short-lived. When something is said to be fashionable that means that it still has that appeal to be pleasant or suitable for the fashion of whatever year or era that one is in. When something is said to be trendy it means that at a specific period in time it is generating a lot of interest. stylish is having elegance or taste or refinement in manners or dress while smart is causing sharp stinging.

It takes effort to find stylish cheap accessories, but they do exist. the fault for this lies with fashion writers because we are hired for paid writing mainly by big brands. The reason people like buying new, fashionable things is because they make them feel good about themselves. So much about fashion just comes down to attitude.

If someone were to always wear red and black because they feel those colors express themselves or flatter their body instead of how popular the colors may be, then that would be their personal style. Some people may feel that the current fashion is good at representing who they are or that it will look good on them, so the fashion would be stylish for them. Here are some tips to save money:

  • Don’t buy something for just one occasion
  • Don’t buy or keep something that doesn’t fit
  • Don’t buy or keep something that doesn’t suit you
  • Don’t buy something just because it’s a bargain
  • Don’t go on extravagant shopping sprees
  • Make an effort to discover new brands
  • Make some tough decisions

Style is something more permanent or more individual: a way to show off someone’s looks or personality. Sports, Athletics, Gym people can simply look stylish in conventional sports wear without any effort. style is all about you and your personality.  It’s about what is inside of you and how you express it in your total appearance, your voice, your posture, your words. Style is very personal. Some women keep the same personal style for years.  Others may change as they go through phases of their life and their roles change. Here are some tips for styling in low cost:

  1. Find the best spot for cheap but well-made clothes by tailors.
  2. Don’t buy the first thing you see, and make sure you haggle.
  3. Learn how to mix and match your old accessories to make your outfit pop.
  4. Love your fashion accessory, make big collection of classic fashion accessories. Accessories are lesser costly compared to full designer dresses.
  5. Do not buy dresses. Buy accessories such as handbags, glasses, hand fans, parasols and umbrellas, wallets, canes, and ceremonial items, caps, boots and shoes, cravats, ties, hats, bonnets, belts and suspenders, gloves, muffs, necklaces, bracelets, watches, sashes, shawls, scarves, lanyards, socks, pins, piercings, rings, and stockings.
  6. Express yourself through your style.

Don’t buy just to buy, don’t buy to feel better. Buy to fill wardrobe holes and to look better today and a year from today.  It’s easier to style something a bit big than make a too-small piece look polished, and many simple alterations can be done at a reasonable price by your local dry cleaner. It takes effort to find stylish cheap clothes, but they do exist.
